The 2nd Chaplains' Day

The 2nd Chaplains’ Day was held in Shium Ay Alliance Church on November 28, 2006 with the theme of “Let’s set off together”. Around 70 chaplains participated. Dr. Susi Lum {Senior Manager of Administration (Nursing), Hospital Authority} and Rev. John Hon (Chairman of Chaplaincy Committee, Princess Margaret Hospital and Kwai Chung Hospital) were invited to speak on the topic of “The future of Pastoral care”. In addition, a report was presented on questionnaire for professional development of chaplaincy service followed by a “Q&A” session. Chaplains also shared and prayed. A buffet dinner was served in the evening and chaplains had a great time of fellowship.

Joint Walkathon 2006

The Joint Walkathon 2006 of all hospital chaplaincy committees was held on November 4 (Saturday) at the HK International Airport Trail. Representatives from 11 hospital chaplaincy committees together with Rev. Law Kit Choi officiated the "Kicking-off" ceremony. There were over 400 participants, including chaplaincy staff and volunteers. The total amount of funds raised this year exceeded 1 million dollars.

The Spiritual Concert "No longer Hearing of You"

Jointly organized by CMDF, NCF and AHKHCCM, as well as fully supported by Caring Hands and Happy Tree, the Spiritual concert 2006 was successfully held on October 12 at the Heritage Baptist Church. The concert was attended full house with an audience of around 400. The theme of the concert was “ No longer Hearing of You”. Apart from hymns singing and time for meditation, there were also sharing from nurse and Rev. Law. A big thank you to Mr. Zion Yeh and his worship team The Spring of Life for holding the concert, as well as to the Nurses Christian Fellowship of HKU for their singing performance.

The Volunteers' Day

The Volunteers’ Day was held on May 5 (Friday) with an objective to gather and motivate volunteers from different chaplaincy offices. Over 200 volunteers and chaplains from 11 chaplaincy offices participated in the event. The morning program was held at a hotel in Tien Shui Wai. There were hymns, games and sharing from volunteer and patient. An outing was held in the afternoon at the Kam Tin Country Club.

Watching for the Frontline – the 3rd prayer meeting

The 3rd prayer meeting for “Watching for the Frontline” was held on March 31 at North Point Alliance Church. Apart from gospel message, there was also sharing from nurse of Prince of Wales Hospital. The prayer meeting concluded series of activities for “Watching for the Frontline”.

The 2nd prayer meeting for “Watching for the Frontline” was held on February 22 at Yan Fook Church of E.F.C.C. Dr. Wong Kin Shing from Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital was invited to share the needs of the hospital frontline staff. Chaplains, medical staff and church pastors prayed together for the decision makers and medical staff of H.A.
